Water and Solar Technologies For: Emergency Humanitarian Relief and Support of Partially Operational Infrastructure and Temporary Replacement of Destroyed Infrastructure Reconstruction

The Water and Power Challenge

Providing life-saving water to potentially millions of people scattered throughout a vast geographical area during an environmental or armed conflict is a very difficult challenge.

This is especially true when an aggressive enemy deliberately targets the civilian population and vital utilities, including energy and water infrastructure, or the damage after a hurricane. Replacing destroyed or captured water infrastructure means replacing the production capacity and replacing the infrastructure required to distribute water where it’s needed.

Further compounding these issues are undependable power supplies necessary for water production and the need to uncover new water sources to replace compromised ones or where access has been shut off.

In war-driven crises, the atmosphere for infrastructure development is very fluid and may necessitate changes in infrastructure plans, even temporary ones. For this reason, water solutions must be incredibly adaptive. They may need to use alternative water sources never before treated for human consumption.

They may need to be mobile to avoid the enemy and deliver water to areas remote from primary sources. For example, the life cycle of armed conflict changes and the need for water solutions over that time culminated in post-war reconstruction, where all water facilities needed to be brought back online at the soonest possible time. These critical water challenges must be met to avert ongoing water insecurity.

JHOC Learning Academy

Every project JHOC undertakes in humanitarian zones promotes our core principles of - Stabilization through Education - Stabilization through Aid -Stabilization through Trade.
This is known as our E.A.T model.

Education with Reward and Purpouse

The Model – Education, Aid, Trade (E.A.T) • Transformation: From passive aid to active empowerment • Integration: Seamless collaboration between the partners • Sustainability: Creating self-reliant businesses • Impact: Tracking and realizing long-term benefits.

JHOC’s E.A.T. program focuses on sustainable community education, which leads to earned aid and access to sustainable trade opportunities for families and their communities.

The program offers learning pathways that include employment, functional skills, civic and cultural awareness, and entrepreneurship. To deliver the learning content, JHOC has partnered with Suada Training App, which offers desktop and mobile applications to access the content easily.

The E.A.T. content is linked to JHOC’s FinTech partner PayCode, which delivers aid and trade opportunities. Suada’s third-party accreditation accredits all of the JHOC learning content on their service. Accreditation through the JHOC system is turned into learning points that can be converted to aid and trade opportunities through the PayCode system.

To measure the learners’ progress, all learners will be asked pre-module questions to gather their level of understanding as a base rate. A test will be given after each module to measure the improvement and determine if they have passed to earn accreditation points.

The JHOC Concept of Operations – Education strives to empower communities and families by providing them with essential skills, knowledge, and resources to build sustainable futures.
